Introduction

LALA Bye Anthology is about different people living in the Los Angeles area who for whatever reason have come in contact with HIV/AIDS in his or her life.  Whether it be from sex, drugs, family member or friend it has had a profound effect on them.  The stories surround individuals, which have had an importance here on earth and need to share their life in such a way that it will help you understand life as we know it.  Hopefully from reading these stories you may find that someone close to you or even yourself may have had or is having some of these experiences.  You might want to think about how you want to deal with it or wish you had dealt with it differently.  If it is the later and it was a negative situation, we hope that there is time to change the negative with who ever it is.  But if not and they have passed on, just pray on it and God will help you through it.  He is here for us no matter what and will bring you through it!

LALA Bye is about a mother talking about her son’s life, a wife talking about a husband, a lover speaking on the life of his lover, an ex-lover speaking on the experiences the two shared as friends.  It is about a person who has passed on to the other side and speaking from heaven or someone who is HIV positive or has AIDS telling the experiences that they have encountered in living with the virus.  It is some telling you that no matter what we all deal with HIV/AIDS whether we believe it or not; and wake to wake up to the fact.  It is a book of compassion, feeling and love for one another.  It is also a book on how hate, disbelief and misunderstanding, fear and ignorance can cloud your mind to the point that when you woke up to reality, it might have been too late – but we hope not.  It’s about friends who love one another.  It also tells about how youth may have dealt with being HIV positive or having AIDS, a rape that should have never happened, or a child being put out of the house because of his sexual preference.  This book hopefully helps the youth understand that they are the future of this world.  How they can help one another live through this life and are not afraid to say NO to sex without protection.  Saying no to drugs and how it can have an effect on ones activities and letting down the safe guards which they need to keep around them.  It is also about family and being close as a family.  Realizing that family is very important in a child’s life and as adults, we should not let our children down no matter what life style they choose to live.  Not must we be supportive of them whether they decide to be straight, gay or even bisexual – but really be there for them.  Parents don’t always agree with the choices our children make, did yours?  This world is a big place to live in all alone, especially on the streets.  Help understand each other in the survival of this time.  It is about Living in LA and dealing with HIV/AIDS.  Sit back and let your mind think of these experiences and how you might have dealt with them.  Please enjoy these experiences whether they are good or bad, it makes no difference.  It Just Is!
